Bible Study: Living a life of daily bread

A former member of the NW MN Synod Lutheran Youth Organization Board (2001-2005), Mikka McCracken of Bemidji, has written a Bible study for the Women of the ELCA. Living a Life of Daily Bread is based upon the theme for the recently-concluded Lutheran World Federation (LWF) General Assembly in Stuttgart, Germany. This study is available to you to use with women’s or other parish groups.

"What can you learn about your faith by baking bread? Get out your apron, pull out the flour canister and get to work. You’ll learn about living a life of intention and attention. You’ll learn some patience. You’ll learn to live in wide-eyed anticipation. You’ll learn to live in community."

Acting Boldly

Participants in 8,596 active congregational units are the heart of Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The organization carries out its partnership with this church through three mission areas-Growth, Community, and Action-providing for leadership development, growth in faith and witness, support of one another in community, and service and development projects and programs, locally and globally.

Women of the ELCA is an incorporated, self-supporting organization that is managed within the policies of the ELCA. The churchwide triennial convention and the executive board conduct the business of the organization.
