Senior High Youth Gathering
Cancelled
Dear Friends:
Because of an extremely low response from our
congregations to our registration for the Sr. High Youth
Gathering, the gathering scheduled for April 17-19, 2009 at
Cragun's Resort has been cancelled. We
are seriously considering rescheduling for the Fall of 2009,
and we’ll certainly communicate any and all details of
future plans as they develop.
If you have already registered for the
gathering any deposit you have paid will be refunded. If
you are currently still organizing your registration
materials, please communicate with your group and suspend
your plans.
The low response seems to be due to a number
of factors, including the National Youth Gathering scheduled
for this summer in New Orleans and the current economic
downturn. More details surrounding this decision will be
communicated in a letter/email that will be sent out to you
soon.
Thank you for your understanding and support
of our synod's youth gatherings and we pray for your
continued support and participation in the future.

The 2009 ELCA Youth Gathering will be in: New Orleans July
22-26, 2009. The theme is Jesus JusticeJazz
and it draws from the rich faith history, diverse cultures, and
arts of New Orleans. It will stretch our understandings of what it
means to live in relationship and service with each other in the
