Churchwide
Assembly ~ The Churchwide
Assembly is held biannually and comprises the highest legislative authority of
the ELCA. Lay and clergy representatives are elected from each of the 65
synods, according to the number of congregations in each synod. Voting
members make recommendations for policy and ministry, and hold elections for
officers and council members for the ELCA, boards and committees.
