Stewardship Is A
Smile
A smile costs nothing,
but gives much. It enriches those who receive, without making poorer those who
give. It takes but a moment, but the memory of it lasts forever. None is
so rich or mighty that they can get along without it, and none so poor but that they
can be made rich by it. A smile creates happiness in the home, fosters good
will in business, and is the countersign of friendship. it brings rest to the
weary, cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad, and it is nature's best
antidote for trouble. Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen,
for it is something that is of no value to anyone until it is given away. Some
people are too tired to give you a smile. Give them one of yours, as none
needs a smile so much as the one who has no more to give. (Author Unknown)
"Go ye also into the
vineyard!" (Matt
20:4)
What farmer today would allow
his hired help to spend only 3 hours per day in the harvest fields when the grain is
ripe and the harvest is in danger of being lost? How can we as church members,
called into the vineyard by our Lord; give our leftover hours, time, talents, and
money (very many less than 3%) to gain the harvest of souls waiting to be
harvested? Jesus said, "I gave you no program, but a calling- to be the
church." ~ Waldo J. Werning
It is our task to teach
stewardship truths to increase knowledge, while it is the task of the Holy Spirit to
increase belief and faith. (Author Unknown)
