Lynn Melchior is the pastor at First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake, MN.  After working in the office at Zion Lutheran Church of Amor for 9 years, Lynn started Seminary at the ripe old age of 55.  Still in her first call, she brings a lifetime of experience to First Lutheran. 

Lynn is married to Rob and between them, they have 6 delightful adult children and four beloved (and spoiled) grandchildren.  As the wife of a farmer and truck driver, their home is filled with whatever animal her husband finds that needs a little extra love.  Currently, that is two dogs and five cats but has included calves, chickens, ducks, and Guinea hens.  Ask Lynn sometime about the turkey named Larry….

Lynn grew up on the shores of Rush Lake in Otter Tail County on the weekends and summers where her family ran a resort.  She is a graduate of Mounds View Senior High School in Arden Hills, MN.  She received her Bachelor of Arts in Finance and German from the College of St. Thomas, then a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Minnesota.  Lynn ran her own business – a toy store for many years. She closed the business to focus on her children and aging parents. 

A lifelong learner, Lynn loves to read, travel and spend time with family.  She has been to all 50 states and 28 countries around the world.  One of her favorite activities is to sit in God’s Creation enjoying all that God has provided her.    Living her faith is highpoint in Lynn’s life as she imperfectly follows Jesus.  (She is especially grateful for God’s Grace.)
